lace designs / concepts
I’ve always been fascinated by the ornamentation of lace and how its patterns create a delicate yet bold presence on the body. The lines and details are as fine as gossamer, but when zoomed out, they display strong imagery and solid compositions. I relate aging floral tattoos to wearing lace patterning — as tattoos age, they soften, but the imagery remains, without the heaviness of traditional ornamental tattoos. Where some people may thing of aging tattoos as a loss, I want it to be part of the tattoo design.
Although I’m not the first tattoo artist to tattoo lace, I’m very interested in creating my own interpretations of it. Many of these designs will be rendered in grey washes and textures rather than just in solid black and hard lines.

What I'm offering here are single designs that can be repeated to create compositions for any part of the body.

One of the things I love about lace is that it's a repetitive pattern. A simple design can be tessellated and expanded to create a lush and elegant covering.
This gallery is just a few examples out of a myriad of possibilities.

Pricing and completion time:

These kinds of projects develop and grow in their own ways, therefore there's no accurate way for me to give exact quotes.
I can say that larger projects like sleeves, backs and thighs will start at 4 to 5 full day sessions and go up from there.

These projects get tackled one session at a time as I work together with my clients to figure out a project schedule that works for them.
