appointment preparations
-
Be in good health. If you are sick with a cold, flu, etc, stay home and reschedule! We don't want any bugs spreading in the studio and we don't want to bring them home to our loved ones. Getting tattooed while sick can be a terrible time and the shock to your immune system could affect how well your tattoo heals.
-
Get a good night’s rest before.
-
Have a filling meal at least 2 hours before your appointment, not something small like a smoothie. It's important to keep your blood sugar level up to prevent lightheadedness during and after your session.
-
Bring snacks and juice/water.
-
Please arrive showered. If you can, please shave down a bit if your body hair is longer/thicker. We have razors at the studio but they are just the cheap small disposable ones best suited for finer or shorter hair.
-
Bring an appropriate change of clothing, ideally comfy and baggy. Also, garments that are dark in color in case they get some tattoo ink stains on them. Your body can sometimes feel cold while being tattooed, so socks and hoodies will help. Zip-ups or button-up garments are also good for covering your front if you're getting a back tattoo. My tattoo bed also has a heating pad on it.
-
The studio environment can sometimes be an open and shared space. If you feel it's needed, please bring appropriate garments to cover areas you may not want exposed. I will also provide free nipple pasties for anyone who wants them.
-
Tattooing can be a very intense process for clients and artists. I usually work with headphones in to keep my focus, but I promise I'm not ignoring you :) You may bring your own entertainment with headphones.
-
Because our studio is so tiny, we'd prefer if there are no accompanying friends or family. If you feel the company is needed, please let me know ahead of time.
-
No spray tans. No sunburns. If you come in with either of these, I cannot tattoo you that day. Rescheduling will require a new deposit. No sun exposure for at least two weeks after your tattoo has healed too!
-
Please arrive at the studio for the appointment time. No need to be there earlier as I may be setting up or not there to let you in yet!
