Tattoos are a unique art form as they are created on a biological canvas that will age and change over time. The fresh crisp-looking phase is very short-lived. It's expected for the work to transform a bit through the settling process. The image will flatten. Sharp lines will soften. Grey washes will lighten to the mid-tones they were intended to be and blacks will spread out a bit.

It's important to see examples of healed work. Aside from an artist's skill, there are other variables that could affect how a tattoo heals and settles like skin type and care. Tattooing is an ongoing learning process for tattooists as well, especially now with new styles and techniques showing up constantly.  We love receiving and getting a chance to see our work healed!
